Biden Says He’s ‘Confident’ in Fauci as Calls for Doctor’s Resignation Grow

President Joe Biden on Friday says he remains supportive of Dr. Anthony Fauci in the wake of thousands of Fauci’s emails being released. “Yes, I’m very confident in Dr. Fauci,” Biden told reporters at the Rehoboth Convention Center in Delaware in response to a shouted question. Biden’s public backing comes as a growing number of Republicans call for Fauci’s resignation, asserting the emails show questionable activity by the longtime head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “Anthony Fauci’s recently released emails and investigative reporting about #COVID19 origins are shocking. The time has come for Fauci to resign and for a full congressional investigation into the origins of #COVID19 – and into any and all efforts to prevent a full accounting,” Sen.
