Rubio Asks If MLB Commissioner Will Give Up Georgia Golf Club Membership

Sen. Marco Rubio on Monday rhetorically questioned if the commissioner of the Major League Baseball (MLB) would give up his Augusta National Golf Club membership in addition to pulling the All-Star game from Atlanta in protest against the recently enacted election reforms in the Peach State. In a letter to MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, Rubio said that unlike the relocation of the annual showcase match, giving up the golf club membership would enroached upon Mansfred’s personal interests. “Taking the All-Star game out of Georgia is an easy way to signal virtues without significant financial fallout. But speaking out against the Chinese Communist Party would involve a significant loss of revenue and being closed out of a lucrative market.” Rubio wrote. “I am under no illusion that Major League Baseball will sacrifice business revenue on behalf of its alleged corporate values.
